Start a Business
Get started from
your home, or add body wrapping to your salon, tanning salon, health
club or related business--with NO ridiculous "licensing"
fee.
Thinking of starting a body wrap
business? Want to know what it costs to start, or how difficult it
is to learn? How much space do you need, and can you start out doing
it in your home? Most importantly, how much money can you make? This
page should answer these questions, as well as most other questions
you may have about this very lucrative business.
SlenderWrap™ provides body wrap
products to salons, whether they are already established in the body
wrap business, or just wanting to get started. As a rule, salons
that have access to a client database, such as a tanning salon,
weight loss clinic, health spa, or health food store have a distinct
advantage over a salon without such a list. Further, persons with
previous retail business experience have greater likelihood of
success than someone who just decides to go into the body wrapping
business on a "whim."
Product Info
The SlenderWrap™ Body Wrap System
uses a sea clay mud as the base product for body wrapping. Other
companies use seaweed, aloe-vera, or mineral solutions. These
"other products" are liquid based. Since the body wrap
process is based on an "absorption process", the solution
must be able to act as an absorbent for best results. Liquids cannot
absorb liquids, making sea clay mud much more effective than any
other body wrap product on the market today. Simply stated, no other
body wrap product can provide the inch loss that sea clay can. So,
why do other wrap salons use products other than sea clay? Expense.
A sea clay wrap costs a salon 1 to 2 dollars more per wrap than
other "liquid based" products, such as "herbal",
"seaweed", or "amino acid" wraps. Therefore, a
salon that is worried about it’s bottom line will use a cheaper
product. Finer salons, which are more concerned with quality
products (and repeat business), should choose the finest products
available. That’s where we come in.
Guaranteed Inch loss
Our salons offer the 6 inch guarantee
that your inch loss will stay off for 30 days, provided the client
gains no more weight. Other salons guarantee the inch loss, but not
the 30 days. This is a great advertising "hook", and gets
the prospective client’s attention. But this is not a scam—you
can back this claim up. Remember, this is a cumulative loss, with
the inch loss from thighs being added to the loss from the calves,
waistline and buttocks to arrive at the total. This method of
measuring is used by all body wrap providers. Some wraps are based
on compression (the liquid based ones), and the inch loss will
return within just a few hours, or a couple of days. This is not
true of sea clay. The inches stay off. This equates to satisfied
clients, repeat business, and free word of mouth advertising.
Training
Some companies provide training in
their facilities, and this cost is built into a so-called "licensing fee." We at SlenderWrap™ feel that you can
learn this procedure with a little practice just by looking at our
website in just a few hours, especially if you’ve had a wrap
performed on you at practically ANY salon. All the wrapping
techniques are virtually the same, regardless of the product used.
If you decide that you simply must
have hands on training, we will provide you and one other person one
day of training at our facility for a one time training fee of $500.
You would be responsible for all expenses relating to travel,
lodging and local transportation to and around Indianapolis,
Indiana. Advance reservation and payment is required, but we
repeat—"Training is NOT necessary". This isn’t rocket
science.
NO Licensing Fees--Unlike our
Competitor
Our salons will be allowed their
county or area of 50,000 people as a protected territory, provided you adhere to minimum
purchasing requirements. We do not charge the ridiculous
"licensing fee" that our competitors charge, so you'll
save THOUSANDS. Requirements are 1 gallon every 3 months.
This means we will not sell our product to another salon in your
area, so you would be free from competition of SlenderWrap™ sea
clay. However, you must purchase all your supplies from us without
substitution of any products, and you may not re-sell them either
retail or via internet or mail. This insures the SlenderWrap™ name
is not harmed by cheaper substitutions. Imagine if McDonald’s
allowed each store to buy it’s own hamburger meat from anywhere
they wanted. There would be no quality control. We operate under the
same principle.
Hidden Charges
We have no hidden or
"surprise" fees or costs. Our business practices are
straightforward and upfront. We are an ethical company. We won’t
sell you something you don’t need or want. We operate on the long
term basis. In order for us to be successful, you must be
successful.
Privacy of Your records
Your sales figures are none of our
business. Some other providers want your sales information as part
of their "licensing agreement". Your minimum purchases to
maintain your territory is our only concern. How much money you make
is your concern only.
Salon Use Only
Salons purchase larger quantities of
our products at substantial discounts. These products may only be
used in your salon. You may not repackage and sell our product by
retail or mail order. The SlenderWrap™ Cellulite Reduction
Cream™ may be retailed
to the client in your salon, but not via mail order. Likewise, to
insure the integrity of the product and process, you would not be
permitted to substitute other products in the body wrap process and
still market body wraps under the SlenderWrap™ brand name.
Retailing our products
Your salon would be permitted to
purchase and resell our SlenderWrap™ Cellulite Reduction Cream, which is the
finest on the market. Cellulite Reduction Cream must be purchased by the case, and
is priced to salons at about 55% of retail. Other
products that you retail, as long as they aren't competing bodywrap
products are not our business.
What you need to get started
A full body wrap on a person will
require about two dozen wrap bandages. Many clients are only
concerned with specific problem areas, but you should do a full wrap
in your salon. Performing ‘partial" wraps will take almost as
long as a full wrap, so offering full wraps only will be more
profitable.
Our body wrapping bandages are
cotton/elastic with a very soft texture. Similar to Ace bandages,
they are much softer and the elastic in not nearly as strong. This
insures the client’s comfort and avoids the itching associated
with the coarseness of other wraps.
Sea clay will be used at 2 to 4
ounces per client, depending on the client’s size. Sold by the
gallon to salons, plan on getting at least 40 and as many as 55
wraps per gallon.
The sauna suit is absolutely
necessary in the salon setting. Sauna suits are more professional
looking, keep the clients warm during the process, and protect your
furniture and carpeting from the possibility of mess from the sea
clay mud. This attractive yet rugged sauna suit is available in six
sizes, from Small through XXXL sizes. Remember, the more professional looking
your operation, the more you will be able to charge your clients per
wrap.
Space needed
A 6’X 7’ room is adequate for
measuring and wrapping a client. This room should have a mirror, no
carpeting, and one electrical outlet. Salons can use one room this
size per technician. Once wrapped, the client can be led out to a
common area, or a lounge area with a TV or magazine area. This frees
up the room for the next client.
The Process
One technician can do 3 clients in a
cycle. Example: Client A has an appointment at 1:PM. Client A is
measured and wrapped, and put in a lounge chair in about 20 to 25
minutes. She will be unwrapped and re-measured in one hour. At 1:30
PM, Client B has an appointment. Client B is measured, wrapped and
shown to the lounge by 2:PM. At 2:PM, Client C arrives and is
wrapped, and shown to the lounge. Now, it is 2:30PM, and Client A is
now ready to be unwrapped. Client A is unwrapped, re-measured, and
is shown options for package purchases. The wrap bandages are now
put in laundry mesh bags and put in the washing machine. At 3:PM, it
is time to unwrap client B. At 3:30PM, it is time to unwrap and sell
a package to client C. So, at 4:PM, the technician can take the next
3 clients. If you do not have laundry facilities at your salon, you
will need to purchase enough wrap bandages to do about 9 clients per
day FOR EACH TECHNICIAN. In other words, 3 clients in 3 hours.
Income is about $80 to $100 per hour, plus gratuities for the
technician.
What does this mean to you really?
For a salon owner, you should make $500 after all costs per
technician per day. The technician will make $120 to $150 per day,
depending on her speed, and her tips. You may also want to train the
technicians to sell "packages" of 3, 5, or 7 body wraps.
This enables the technician to make some commission, and insures the
technician will have a good relationship with the client. This
arrangement will also make for increased sales of
"packages" and increases your cash flow. This also
motivates the technician to do an excellent job. Approximately
40% of your packages will go unused, which equates to absolutely
free money.

What we do not provide
You will need one "roaster"
per wrapping room. These are available at Wal-Mart or similar stores
for about $80 or so. You use these roasters to store the rolled
wraps in warm water. Roasters are pictured on our website on the
"photo instruction" page. They are only used to keep the water warm
during the process. Set it to 125 degrees. You may use just plain
tap water—there is no need for mineral water or distilled water,
unless your water has a high sulfur content, or other impurities.
Wrap rollers are sold by other
companies. Our experience has been that they are not very sturdy or
reliable, yet the cost is high. We use portable battery operated
drills to roll the wraps, or, you can just roll them by hand. A
drill can be used for other duties too, giving you more flexibility.
Plus, they are about ¼ the price of the wrap rolling machines, and
more reliable.
It has been our experience that on
site training is not necessary since the procedure may be learned
via the website.

fees. Lastly, we have the finest products available. Remember
the saying, "No one was ever sorry they bought the best there
is." If you've been in business, or just starting, you
should know just how important these points are.
